Dr. Sotiris Hji-Avgoustis oversees programs in Hospitality and Food Management, Property Management. His research interests are in the area of city tourism and particularly cultural tourism, sports tourism and convention tourism. He has studied the impact of tourism on Indianapolis’ quality of life, was instrumental in the establishment of a three-week long study abroad program in Western Kenya to study sports tourism through service learning. Before 2013, Dr. Hji-Avgoustis was a professor and chair of the Indiana University Department of Tourism, Conventions and Event Management.
